Guild Wars 2 fan site spoke with game designers Eric Flannum, Isiah Cartwright and Ryan Scott to get more information about their upcoming MMO set for release in 2011.

First, massive amounts of unique changes to your player are available. Height, weight, general body type and facial features can be allowed for yourself to craft a distinct look as well as a section to fill out the details about your character. Since there are no longer any different game modes for differing skill levels, thus players can learn skills that are relevant in all levels of competition. The designers were confident that this would remove the aspect of groups who are not allowing newer players to join in. Tournaments will also be held, so teams will be able to fight in competition with another.

The interview also talks about professions and different races. Professions in Guild Wars 2 will be unique and no single profession is required to build your characte. Different races will have a different figure, flavor, story, and skill variety but the developers don't want to put too much significance on different races. In the future, the game will release some more interesting concepts figuring the idea of how profession and race will perform in the MMO games.
